I saw a question earlier, but no answer. I had preloader .29 installed with 3.2U, and then upgraded to 4.0 then reinstalled preloader. Could someone explain the system menu app?? Do you have an option of which system menu app to delete? or does it get rid of both 3.2 and 4.0?

I've noticed a bunch of "sorry, cannot find file" warnings when it detects stuff. Is there a way to remove these darn leftovers?

Oh wait, or does this tell you the file(s) isn't present? A much more clearer warning would be nice to avoid confusion thinking that leftovers exist but can't fully remove them.

Does this work on 4.2 too and what are the "real" benefits doing this?

And wouldnt reinstalling a NUS 4.2 wad stub all necessary IOS you need for homebrew?

I tested to remove the moved SysMenu from 4.2E with this, I got: "File not found!"

So I restored a BootMii Backup without Preloader, better.

Anyone knows???

Afaik, installing a system menu wad doesn't do anything to IOS's, boot2 or other channels. That's the difference between a system menu wad and a real firmware update.

I'll try to answer your question. Nandclean works on my 4.2U. Benefits...well, it gets the hacks out from your nand. I didn't notice much difference anyway before or after I ran it. Just peace of mind.

Installing the 4.2 system menu alone doesn't stub all "necessary" IOS. If done by zektor's offline guide, one can have the newest system menu and still have non-stubbed IOS or older versions of a IOS.

i downloaded the files wher do i put them all?
i got makefile, dol file and elf file plus data and source folders
what goes where?
thanks

its ok i figured it

Jeebus, it sounds there are like a dozen bricks waiting to happen in this thread. Nothing against the app, just lots of noobs jumping to some nooby conclusions. You might want to throw a little brick protection in there if there isn't already some.
