I bought an N64 at a yard sale a few days ago, mainly because it came with a gold copy of OoT (i dont think the seller knew what he had), but i'd still like to get the n64 up and running.
It powers on and the LED on the front lights up, but i get no audio or video at all. I bought a replacement video cable but it didnt help at all. When i turn it on my tv screen flashes white really quickly, then goes back to black. I've tried it on my LCD as well as an old CRT we keep down stairs.

Any idea what the problem could be?

Clean cartridge connectors on the cartridge with alcohol. It helps a lot. I have similar problems when using a dirty cart in my SNES
