I'm pretty sure it would work. Doesn't that new Super Mario 64 DS have N64 graphics, and maybe even better?
By looking at that, it's pretty obvious it would work well.

So yeah plausible...

Oh so its confirmed its gonna have analog sticks now?

Im sure the hardware in this is going to be nothing like what youd see in a PC. So "My ancient PC runs N64" doesnt really apply.

My wii is way more powerful than my PC, but it cant even run conkers bad fur day or DK 64.

Let's get SNES emulated perfectly first

1. Just as PC Hardware is NOTHING like N64 hardware.

This isn't really a reason.

2. Your PC is middle-class from 2002-3 I presume?

3. Sure it can. If Nintendo ever decides to add these games to vc.
....Or if the N64 Wii Emulator gets at a playable point for these games.

Like I said if NINTENDO does it. They know theyre own systems the best. They have all the hardware documentation. They can adjust the hardware... Seriously.....

No, Mario 64 for DS definitely doesn't have better graphics than for the N64.

Some guy said PCs struggle with N64, which is what we were responding to.
Meh, I've just tried Episode I: Racer on 1964, and it doesn't work with most plugins I have. It only works with Glide64 and it even crashes as soon as I press start, on top of that.

N64 emulators on PC sure are crap. And PJ64 is even worse.

Good luck on getting N64 on 3DS, if it'll be ever cracked

1. Yeah, how many games don't work. Ohhhh, these 6 Games that are either badly programmed or do stuff with the system which requiers extremly accurate emulation. Man this emulator is crap. It doesn't matter that I have no idea about what emulation requires or a brain at all but yeah. (sarcasm)

2. Pj64 is still the best emulator out there and in parts a masterpiece.

3. Get the right settings in glide64 so that it doesn't crash. And inform yourself about WHY Glide is the only plugin that has the least glitches

And again: Grow yourself a brain. Please. (Hint: It means inform yourself before ranting about stuff you know shit about.)

From the PJ64 manual.
QUOTEThe following games are known not to be supported by Jabo's Plugins, so you must use an alternative plugin:

video not supported:
Dexanoid R1 by Protest Design (PD)
Heiwa Pachinko World 64 (J)
Ide Yosuke no Mahjong Juku (J)
Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine (U)
Kuiki Uhabi Suigou (J)
Last Legion UX (J)
Mia Hamm Soccer 64 (U)
Michael Owens WLS 2000 (E)
Puyo Puyo 4 - Puyo Puyo Party (J)
RTL World League Soccer 2000 (G)
Star Wars - Rogue Squadron (E) & (U)
Star Wars - Shutsugeki! Rogue Chuutai (J)
Star Wars Episode I - Battle for Naboo (E) & (U)
Stunt Racer 64 (U)
Telefoot Soccer 2000 (F)
Toukon Road - Brave Spirits (J)
Toukon Road 2 - The Next Generation (J)
World Driver Championship (E) & (U)

sound not supported:
King Hill 64 - Extreme Snowboarding (J)
Twisted Edge Extreme Snowboarding (E) & (U)

The following games are not supported by Project64, so you must use an alternative emulator:
Densha de Go! 64 (J)
GameShark Pro V3.3 (Unl)
Mario no Photopie (J)
NFL Quarterback Club 98 (E) & (U)
Puzzle Master 64 by Michael Searl (PD)
Taz Express (E)

So that's only 6 games that don't work at all on that one emulator, out of quite a few games and a small handful of emulators.

PSP had a analog stick... Or do we not refer to it by that? Maby a stub stick, it's very small. And PSP was a hand held

1. Oh, you're so smart. I wasn't obviously talking about them, but of a simple game like Episode I: Racer.

2. Sure, fact is I had so many issues I had to roll back to 1964, when trying 1.6, and 1.5 didn't even want to run on my system.

3. I'm currently using Glide64, and there's not so much to configure, if you cared to actually see its configuration screen before spouting useless phrases.

And again: grow yourself a brain. Please. (Hint: It means don't be so full of yourself, if you're unable to correctly read and understand what others mean.)

Also congrats. The internet is serious business, and you're arguing on the internets. You win at life and everything, dear sir.

Jabo's Plugin won't even work on my new system, still it worked on the old one. I presume it doesn't like too much x64. Too bad no one cared to update it since months, if not years.
And I obviously wouldn't be calling an emulator "crap" if it was one of those games which have known problems. I was playing Glover just before. It froze randomly. Awesome emu, out there, huh. I'm not trolling. I'm just stating that most N64 emus don't work well on new systems, and have pratically been dead in the water for long.

Also, hey everyone, didn't you know that compatibility lists are the same for every system and plugin combination out there? Man, that's so awesome! [/sarcasm]

Guh.

None of that has anything to do with whether it's powerful enough to emulate an N64 or not.

What I tried to say, new chip+analog stick = quite obvious there will be N64 games coming to 3DS. at least N64 graphics.

The DS had "N64 graphics", or at least the quality was of N64 graphics. Actually, it's got better graphics for some games (like Kingdom Hearts). Compare Super Mario 64 to its DS version and you'll see a big difference.

"Quite obviously" isn't exactly a good term. There's more than just having better looking games that makes emulation possible. The PSP has graphics around equal to a PS2 (well, maybe in between the Dreamcast and PS2) and has very slow N64 emulation. And don't say "WELL PSX GAMES WORK FINE" because that's not emulation.
