Hardware N3DSXL is this normal? please help

There are small stripes of light coming through on the top of both top and bottom screens almost as if the screens are not properly in position I can only notice this when I tilt the 3DS forward at a angle. Can anyone else check and see if their unit has this issue?

I have attached some pictures where you can see what I'm talking about but it's hard to really capture at that angle.

I have a new 3ds regular size and it's not happening on that unit, that's why I was worried. I bought this Galaxy style 3DS XL yesterday and wanted to know if I should return it.

It really is completely normal and nothing to worry about its of light bleed from the screen ... i mean take it back if you are unhappy, chances are you will get one with the same thing happening

It's suppose to be evenly lit for the entire perimeter. If you notice hot spots that stands out from the rest of edge, that means your LCD separated from the adhesive, which is bad when dust creeps in between the lcd and glass panel.

On the n2ds the opposite Happens, ligtnfrom the LCD leaks out through a thin part of the plastic on the top assembly.

I don't recommend this as you can damage the LCD if you're excessive. Press the back side of the hot spot and check if you can reseal the LCD or there's changes in the luminosity.

If you can't get it too seal, you will eventually get dust. If you recently purchased this N3DSXL, I recommend returning it.

Edit - Also try squeezing with thumb and index finger.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong but you can also get yourself a can of compressed air to blow out the dust then use a heat gun at the lowest temperature possible and blow it on top of that adhesive part where the light is ''coming out'' for a couple of seconds then press it and keeping it pressed so the adhesive can stick once again.

3DS quality is so random

Tell me about it. My galaxy edition was perfect until the day I accidentally dropped it a foot onto my computer table. Nothing bad happened except a piece of dust broke loose somewhere and resettled itself. First world problems I tell you.

Canned air never works because you end up blowing more dust into the enclosed space. What you need is a vacuum to suck and continually suck dust out of the space.
