Hacking N3DSXL + A9LH upgrade to B9S, Problem? (Parental Controls)

Owner is under 13 yrs old, which means parental control lock. Have 4-digit pin, can't reset without prompt about age.

Can't update to B9S sighax if PCTRL is on.

How to disable/remove?

Updating A9LH to B9S = Yes, I know, follow updating guide. But am I missing anything here?

Just not sure how to deal with P-CTRL.

None. Haven't even started yet. I can't get passed the first warning:

If you have a PIN enabled on Luma3DS, SafeB9SInstaller will give you an “OTP Crypto Fail” error unless you temporarily disable your PIN (you can re-enable the PIN after the update).

That's not the PIN that the guide is talking about. The guide is talking about the PIN option in Luma3DS's settings. It even says "in Luma3DS".

If it doesn't work, here is an idea. Make a NAND backup, then format the system, and don't set parental controls. You can restore the backup later.

Worked just fine. Already backed up NAND and updated Luma and FW to 11.6. No problems.

I even copied nand.bin and nand/bin.sha just in case.

So yeah, system Parental Control won't affect installation. It's only Luma PIN that might error.

SIDE QUESTIONS:

If FreeShop doesn't have a title I'm looking for, is there any other way to obtain it other than transferring .CIA files? I looked in titlekeys site and what I'm looking for can't be found there. And no, I won't ask either. Already know.

Any news on that new Stargate 3DS cart? Or are we still waiting on that review?
