Do I really need to use EmuNAND from Luma3DS from homebrew in order to complete the tutorial? Also, is it EXTREMELY needed to install menuhax as the tutorial suggests? (Obviously, I'm using Plailect's)

Gonna try to do it without both, as menuhax is unusable as of now and EmuNAND without a9lh is a mess.

You're taking a big risk of a brick. No one can tell you the right way to do it because it's such a stupid, ridiculous thing to do so no one has any experience to share. You are going to have to work it out on your own. And if you brick - you'll get no sympathy, you absolutely had it coming....

So I guess that means install a9lh otp-less, restore my backups and only try again when I have a hardmod (Which can actually take a lot of time, cuz' it costs R$150+ on my country).

Why pay $150 for something you don't even need? And yes, having a hardmod and several known, good backups would be a lot better. If you could just be happy with your a9lh though, and not feel the need to chase fairies, you would have no need for a hardmod and could spend your $150 on something that will actually benefit your life.

Wellp, I wasn't gonna say it, but let's spice this up. Afaik, Luma3DS can boot 2.1 sysnand. But only sysnand.

Theorethically, He should be able to restore the 2.1 ctrnand to sysnand+protecting a9lh in safe a9lh restore mode and be able to boot both the 2.1 sysnand and a X ver emunand.

He would not lose a9lh at any time, he may be able to grab his beloved otp and is still protected by a9lh in most cases. Win win to me. Just please try to spend the minimum possible in 2.1, specially in new3ds systems. If I were you, just to grab the otp, and then just restore a backup to sysnand in safe a9lh restore.

Check luma3ds changelog for version: 6.1.2 (But please use 6.6 in this process) :D

Isn't that only on old 3DS that Luma works on 2.1? Also, don't you have to downgrade emuNAND first so it can be unbricked, then flash that to sysNAND? A direct 2.1 downgrade on an N3DS will always brick.

I probably shouldn't be saying this though, he might not do it now. I was sort of looking forward to seeing stupidity be repaid :D

Technically, you can use CTRNand transfer to downgrade to 2.1. If Luma doesn't boot, uninstall, A9LH and go in and grab OTP. Should be a painless process. Don't need to bother with EmuNAND, that was only pre-CTRNandTransfer time.

You don't need to use HBL at 2.1. Use xrsa method to launch the program.

I think not? At least I don't remember being it that way, could've wrong.

And by preserving a9lh, you don't care much about bricking sysNAND so better to keep a working system in emunand. Just in case.
