ya this is a weird one alright, it just disappeared on me
jap n3ds on 9.1
obviously i used it before, but it's been a long time since i used it

anyone have any ideas

-edit-

so it seems like the mset exploit did it, googled disappeared instead of missing
i never set up emunand on this 3ds i think
is my only option to remove the backplate?

did you downgrade MSET? if you did, it will be gone, so will the super stable 3D settings.

what's super stable 3d settings? the eye tracking?
it works after u close and reopen the lid, unless that's been fixed now

ok, so if i leave my n3ds as is, and they create emunand and update the firmware, will the emunand update the mset back to normal, or keep with the exploit
or
should i restore the mset thing, create the emunand and update the firmware, and then put the mset exploit back in

there's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't be creating an emunand. you can update the emunand to 10.4 also and can access e-shop and download other updates without running patch programs such as FMP or NTR.

you should get reinand and you can boot from either MSET or menuhax, whichever you want.

what i'm asking is:
does creating the emunand then updating the firmware restore the mset?
or do i have to restore mset first then start over

When you create your emunand, you'll be able to update the firmware on your emunand to include the newer system settings.

So from emunand, you'll be able to do sd management and even calibrate your 3d.

Your sysnand will stay untouched.
