Hacking N-Card Questions

you need to get a gba sized linker thats why it matters. www.sky2k.com have the gba sized linkers however when you order your n-card ask for it or else they will ship you the nds lite linker.

Yes, I plan to order from sky2k, and I saw that I need to ask for the GBA-sized linker. So this card is "as good" as more popular cards like the R4 or M3DS? It's way cheaper and don't have the micro-SD compatibility problem... it seems perfect, why aren't people talking more about it?

I can't believe I paid 120$ for a Supercard CF kit (with 512mb CF, passcard, etc) less than a year ago when I can get something better for 33$!!!

i dont know why either. The n-card seems to have better rom support and it also has auto- dldi patching. The r4 pros are it has cheat menus and theres also a lot of skins out for it. I have never tried the r4 so i cant really say me view on it. The n-card is skinable but i dont have a clue how to do it.

The whole "my N-Card/DSLinker won't save" issue is scaring me... Is it really common? And if I get a faulty one that won't save, can I get a refund easily? ...and is it a problem that come after some time, or if I get a good one there is little chance that the saving battery will ever die?

IMO the MK5 and DSLinker are the top two N-Card clones. The DSLinker even has DLDI auto patching and write support with the newest update!

gaboumafou don't fret my friend. The newer OS updates are working on fixing the issue and with the latest DSLinker firmware I haven't lost a save yet. They finally got rid of that horrid 6 slot save system that was causing issues all-around. If you want a slot 1 device with no muss or fuss then the N-Card clones are for you.

fifth can you tell me what kind of issues you get when running firmware with six save slots. I have the ultra n-card(i think thats another clone) firmware on my n-card and it has 6 save slots and theres a skin folder inside the dsystem folder. Did the firmware your talking about back up each save as soon as you turned on the card

I also seen in one of your posts that the n-card and clones dont use a battery they use a Capacitor do you have any idea how that works does it recharge while your playing the n-card. thanks for your help fifthelement you seem to know the most about these cards.

@FifthElement (or anybody who has the knowledge):

If it's not too much trouble, could you, with detail, explain the older save system and the newer save system on the DSLinker? Just trying to get a grip on the differences. I brought a DSLinker at the start of this month and I haven't encountered any problems so far (except for a minor trimmed ROM problem [Another Code: TM]). Dunno if I should really upgrade to the latest firmware or not.

i have never encountered a problem with mines and i have had it for 4 months now. Im using the old firmware and i have not had any save problems at all. The last update gave me no sound so i downgraded again. However they released another beta (build 12) which fixed the sound problems for everybody but i can be bothered to update because i will have to format my card and it takes ages to copy my roms and save games off the card. So i want to know if the firmware im using (the one with the six save slots) will damage my card in any way.

The N-cards are proving themselfs! I thought that the N-card and clones would be forgotten by the developpers, but that is not the case! The get more updates then the supercard one!

the N-card has 100% rom compatibility. On a side note if you get it dont flash to the newest firmware theres no sound

The card is excellent i really would recommend it.
