Hardware My Wii U games are disappeared

Hello. When I boot the console with the USB hard drive inserted, in the lower left corner appear that the USB hard drive is recognized, but the games do not appear. If i go to the settings and I open the data management of the USB hard drive the console give me an error. Is there any problem with my hard drive? What can I do?

It gives me error: 150-3032.
Yes, I use a Y-cable.

Try the hard drive on a computer, just to see if it's recognized. It should ask you to format it... choose NO, of course. Also try to power it from another USB power source, like a USB port on your TV, as the Wii U USB ports don't provide much power to start with.

The computer recognize it but it doesn't appear in the file explorer. When I use a an app on the pc the HDD is recognized and appear in the app.

So the hard disk is good to go. Then it's probably a power issue on the Wii U. Try connecting the other branch of the Y cable to your TV's USB port. You'll probably need an extension cable of some sort.

I tried connecting to TV and it give me the error. Then I tried connecting with pc but it give me error too.

Error on the Wii U, I assume? Do you mean connected to the console on one branch of the Y cable, and the PC (or TV) on the other branch?

Incompatibility on the Wii U, perhaps? It used to work before? If it's not too much work, and you have your saves backed up, maybe consider starting from scratch and let the Wii U reformat. I don't know what else to try, at this point.

It worked for 2 years on my Wii U. I don't have save backups.

I found something strange. I am searching for lost data on my HDD with a program for data recovery and I found files with the ending .SWF (Flash Player files)

plugging one end of the Y cable into a cell phone charger and one end into wii u

okay the first and second one sounds plausible but the third one is just outright dumb. the games and saves are encrypted onto the drive so a different wii u wont show the games either. best option could be those 2 or use a different hdd

I got this problem a lot too... old hdd, brand new hdd, doesnt matter..both happens. I'm not sure what causes it but I got a feeling its the power.. I use internal type SATA hdd (like the ones in your PC desktop) connected with just 1 SATA->USB into the WiiU. The hdd is also powered by an adapter that goes into the wall outlet. I switch it off and unplug from wiiu when I'm done playing, so that means when I want to play again I need to switch the hdd power on and plug it into the wiiu before turning the wiiu on.
Sometimes it feels like the wiiu tries to read it but the drive doesnt spin or read fast enough (judging by hdd sound), so the wiiu gives up. But if I time it right so the initial powerup spin has not slowed down yet when the wiiu tries to read, it usually works. Not sure if you can try that on your setup.

You might get it reading again after a few tries, but then you'll the wiiu has lost track of your game icons, and they're scattered all over your menu... thats a big pain the in the ass having to re-order them again.
