Hardware My Wii Drive is dead

Ok so my Wii drive is dead. Mine was a Japanese Wii with D2C modchip installed. It was working flawlessly for around 1 month and today when I inserted a game to play, the drive won't detect the disc. The console works perfectly but can't play any games. Any suggestions?

Oh yea, I cannot send this back to Nintendo coz I live in India. And was bought from Taiwan.

Buy a new drive off e-bay and repair it?

Try if it reads original discs. It might be that some of the modchip wires got disconnected.

have you tryed unplugging your wii from the mains for about 10-20 mins ???

If it won't read the original disc it's problably the laser...
If so (raises hand) welcome to club!

However I have two wiis so...

@ Puxel & epicelite: I have to try this if my local repair guy is not able to make it work.

@raulpica: I also hope that only modchip is affected.

@tomqman: It doesnt solve the issue. Still getting a question mark.

@skawo96: I really don't wanna lose it like this.

It really hurts.

BTW, when I start my Wii, the drive attempts to start and boots up properly. But when I insert a DVD, the drive doesn't read at all. I cannot feel the vibration which was earlier when I played the games.
