I will be getting my dongle soon and am planning to be as safe as "we think" we can. I understand there are no guarantees on NOT being banned but here is my plan anyway. Please let me know if I am missing something vital I could be doing.
  1. Turn off “Share Error Information” in the settings
  2. Making a NAND backup
  3. Create a dummy user account
  4. Delete WiFI Settings
  5. Install License From Xecuter SX Pro OFFLINE
  6. Not going to use Homebrew whatsoever
  7. Not going to update games, even in OFW (or should I?)
  8. Not going to use Layered FS
  9. Not going to use AutoRCM (or does it matter?)
  10. When going back into OFW, will connect wifi and play my purchased games online.
  11. Removing WiFi setting always before going back to SX OS.
Any thoughts?

It helps but like others said it's not a guaranteed solution and we still don't really know how nintendo marks you for a ban.

Your logs will still get you banned buddy. I'm sure there's some indicators that are not cleared with hekate. Booting into SX even once probably provides enough evidence to get you banned.

Hekate's log clear seems to actually assist in a ban. SciresM's plan of making a new report instead will probably be better.

@op, I have two different switch's and I use them both with sx os, both on 5.1.0 and I have ran my dumped games from the sd card, I've been doing this since day 1 of sx os. Just don't use other people's games and you won't get banned. I don't ninjahack the wifi to not get banned or do anything on this list... I did make a few backups though, like 12... just to validate hashes, you could stop at two or three but precision is my middle name. Have fun, be safe, don't use other people's backups.

Right now the only way to totally avoid a ban is to never use a CFW or never connect to the internet. If online connectivity is that important to you running SX OS is probably not the best plan.

With that said I am running SX OS, have cleared logs, updated all my backups from SX OS etc and still am not banned. It seems to be a real crap shoot.

Make a clean nand backup, install all the homebrew you want, games, devmenu, etc. Do a nand backup, Never go online.

If you want to go online, then restore your clean nand backup first.

Once you modify the switch, dont ever go online.

If you can't have your Switch banned, then you should NOT be doing any CFW on it. Period.

Chances are good that we are all going to be banned once Nintendo starts doing a ban wave. My guess is they are collecting data on what is going on, and how many people are doing it. They might be cool and let some things slide and they might not.

So if you do not want to get banned, the smart decision currently is to not use a CFW on your Switch.

i have been buying games lately i heard a rumour they favour frequent buyers, and i never clear logs, i do use dev menu quite a bit. but only to install nsps, and i never play cfw online

Well, to be honest I have been doing 80% those things since about two/three weeks. Dummy account, entering wifi only in OF, turning it off in SX OS. No ban until now. Don't know what's the deal. Can happen, or not. Just lucky, random cases until we know for sure how to avoid completely a ban. But keepong in mind those warning tips, looks like you can buy some spare time before being banned.

If you want to make sure you're not banned. Like never. Don't use homebrew nor backups right now. For homebrew, wait a proper Atmosphere release, which will probably have a better way to clear error logs. For backups. DON'T USE THEM, NEVER. NEVER EVER.

Right now, it's risky using either homebrew (because of error logs not being removed at all by the current tools) or SX OS.
