I have decided to make a thread about this because I'm really baffled how this can happen and I hope somebody knows what the hell happened... Well here's my story about my exploding pc. I was in my kitchen and I looked around to find smoke coming out from my pc so I rush over to find flames I put them out fast, "how are you baffled about that" you say? The pc wasn't even plugged in, It was last plugged into the wall around 4 hours before this happened! Now can anyone explain wtf happend and how this is possible? thanks

Don't power supplies have capacitors that retain voltage even if the computer is unplugged? I know CRT monitors do. Maybe a short in the aforementioned capacitor caused the fire?

powersupply? I don't really think anything else would do such damage. Do you turn off the powersupply before unplugging it?

Wait it wasnt even plugged into the wall?

    Shit!

Must be some kind of leftover charge in the power supply or board that shorted, probably a one in a thousand occurance and it happened to you! [IMG]
