My PC keeps waking up randomly

Is your computer waking up in the middle of the night and staying awake, or is it waking up and immediately going back to sleep? By default, a computer switches from sleep to hibernate after 180 minutes of sleep.

Not all the time, it's random, but turns out there was a setting in the mouse power options that was waking it up. Sometimes I bump into my computer desk when my roommate and I sleep. The mouse is pretty sensitive and that's why it was waking up, but for now, I only have the keyboard as my means to wake it up from sleep mode. :D So from now on, I'll use sleep if I don't use the PC for a few hours and them come back, but shut it down during the night :P

why bother to turn in sleep mode if you won't turn it off?
this is desktop right?

sure it run with less power consumed, how much less, it depends with the hardware you have in it.
probably not much less if you leave it idle.

btw it's nice to have someone to paid your bill.

and I agree with foxi while everything is off but not with motherboard and PSU.

for your problem, might want to switch mouse & keyboard (also anything connected to USB, like webcam) and see the result.

Dude, reread what I said, I agree with Foxi4's suggestion. When I use it during the day, there are times when I'm not using the desktop, and then I come back later. During that time, I keep it in sleep mode (again, it's not that long of t interval). When I go to sleep, I turn the PC off, then turn it on in the morning. That really doesn't sound that complex. I know about the detriments of having sleep mode used all the time, which I DON'T plan on doing. Reread what I said please.

During the day, sleep mode during downtime, come back and use PC
During the night when I go to bed, shut it down

In total, I probably use sleep mode twice a day.
