I like mods. I am a modder myself. The switch dock is shit and Nintendo will acknowledge that by including a small stand type with the revision like the chinese ones you can get now. Other than that your mod is excellent for those who wants to use this dock. Really excellent video tutorials.

Got the prototype made, and a new video about how it looks, functions, and installs. Uploading the video now. Will be a couple hours. Slow connection at home.

I got a chinese dock plastic thing that is of good quality. My only beef is I need two hands to pull the switch out because the dock isn't weighted.

Just cut a lead or steel plate maybe 1/8" thick, and as big as will fit in the bottom of that plastic shell, and glue it in place (or epoxy). That should give you plenty of weight to use one-handed.

I'm sure everyone knows what was in the last thread that was deleted. So I'm not going to go through and say it all again.

The videos: (edited to comply with former complaints)

Part 1: The Design

Part 2: The Testing

What were the before and after numbers?

Mmmm the switch dock is fine, mate. WTF? It sounds like you're trying hard to pull the "better-than-you" card :/

I honestly think it sucks big time. The small 3rd party ones are great and I've got two. Look at how far OP is going with this mod. That says plenty.

I really want to get a 3rd party one, specially to improve portability on travels, etc.
Do you suggest one model in particular based on your experience?
Do you yourself run them with the Nintendo AC adapter or do your use some other cell phone USB-C charger?

Never had an issue with my dock or system, just like most people.

Decent mod, but not needed at all.
