Hacking my DSL got cracked, plz help.

its not new toy syndrom here, its concern of malfunction.
it doesnt matter if its cracked on both hinges since it doesnt affect gameplay.
does this crack progress? or its just cosmetics?

You said your dad goes to the USA in 2 months, right? Just have him mail it in when he goes. Your DS will survive until then, don't worry.

Does glueing the crack violate the waranty?

Don't glue, don't tape, don't panic. Just wait the 2 months and let your dad send it off if it's much worse by then. I've lived with a crack for a few months on mine and believe me, it's a very very common occurrence. Most people have cracks much worse, including me, and it rarely gets to the point of breaking off completely. Just be careful with it, you should be ok for the interim.

it got worse from yesterday, i'll post new pix.
just tell me if glue wil violate the warranty or not.
how u know it will not get worse? yesterday ppl were saying it will not get worse and it did.
i'm not sure, he may stay for 4months, i bought it at noevember.
how can i PREVENT the new DS to get crack? is there any serial number or other thing to check when u buy the new one to be sure that it will not crack?

I used to be a perfestionist like that but if you start wining of a crack like that you will be getting a new ds every 5 days.

for god's sake, is it just cosmetics? if yes, i'll keep it.
i dont give a damn about this crack, but no one helps to tell if this will happen to break up or not.

Dude STOP worring about it! MY wife had a temper tantrum and started throwing mine around. It still works, but the case has a alot more than cosmetic damage. I plan on buying a SHOCK! replacement case for mine, chrome I think.

It's not cosmetic the crack on one side will increase the pressure on the otehr hinge eventually causing a hairline fracture in it and evenutally tearing the light off and with it the screen goes only to be connected by a wire. i diddn't believe this at ifrst but than i looked under my light nad notice there was a hairline fracture. At this point it was too late to return it to nintendo due to it was flashed and the warranty was expired. I filled in the cracks with superglue to reinforce the hinges, it was a year ago and since than there has been no chance in the cracks.

yes i superglued my crack along time ago, before i swtiched to a shock case.

the horror of broken hinges on DSL's.

some say glue it and it will be ok and no need to return it to nintendo and take risk of getting another defected DSL, like dead pixel and crack, etc.

some say deal with it and return it anyway to nintendo after 4 months.

if that was me.. and when the warranty ends.. ill just take care of it and play as usual.. if anything develops.. (nother crack? or crack gets bigger) then ill send it in..

I thought my post was perfectly reasonable given your current situation.

u can do what i did..i replaced my case and got a shock case..
