but the point is,

whats everyone's opinion on the classic controller and what games should i immediately get on the virtual console in Australia?

Um...tragic? No.
They're not very hard to find...

And I personally do not like the classic controller, it's doesn't feel good to grip and I suggest using the WaveBird GameCube controller, as you don't have a Wiimote dangling from the bottom of it

i know they're not hard to find,

hence the tragedy when i found that our whole two facings where empty :/

i heard that the gamecube controller is horrible to use with snes games too :/

Its horrible for N64 games too, I really don't like it but its better than using a Wiimote. GC controller or Wavebird are much better.

I'm unsure which to get (the wavebird or classic - caught in the middle. But will the Wii allow me to use the Classic Controller or a gamecube controller for any Wii games. For example, if I didn't want to swing the wiimote around for Prince of Persoa, could I just press B or C or whatever? Are there games out there that let you do this?

wavebird is good for Mario Kart 64 and terrible for everything else. Classic controller is the way to go.

I recommend picking up Donkey Kong Country 1&2 with a Classic Controller

Thanks Opium. Have you been able to use your classic controller with any Wii titles (non Virtual console titles)?

I find the CC with one of those grips you can find at deal extreme to be comfortable enough for most games.

I think you can use the Classic Controller with Dragonball Z Budokai tenkaichi 2...
But i don't know for sure.
Can anyone confirm this?
