Gaming Multiplayer in Taiko no Tatsujin 2?

hi,
i tried to play the new taiko no tatsujin game in multiplayer mode (r4 fw 1.17) but it just gives me a japanese message and a "ok" button.
and if you press this button it jumps right back to the menu??
the multiplayer in the first game works like a charm.
could it be its because of the arm7 patch?

The message says "Unable to proceed to DS wireless mode" so it must have been the side effect of the arm7 patch. Probably 1.18 firmware would solve the problem
