Need some direction or opinions if this will work

I trying to play a RB2 backup - ( wii 3.2u w/starfall & Gamma 0.3 ) , but of course usb instruments not
recognized. Heres my plan

Inside the 00000001, create a folder called 00000025. Inside that, create a folder called v2070. Inside that, put all 17 files of IOS37 in it This is the structure in the end (X:\ being your SD Card) X:00000010000025\v2070

Then Use the Multi-cIOS installer and install custom IOS37 as IOS 249 - ( to use Gamma )

Will this work, any downside

That will work, but the preferred method that most people are using I believe is to Install the cIOS37 as IOS232 then use Softchip and select IOS232 from within softchips menu. This way you're keeping IOS249 as generic Rev 7 which more and more homebrew/hacks are using as their IOS. I personally have not read any threads describing any problems having a cIOS37 instead of cIOS36 installed as IOS249. Mrkinator has a good turorial I think about all things Rock Band and Backup Launcher. He's got a nice RB Channel also.

Just put the files in the correct folder, run the multi_cios_installer, select cIOS37 with IOS37 dip installed as IOSx (where x shouldn't be 249) and run SoftChip and select use IOSx. 248 would be a good choice.

I think just installing the whole file in wad manager will work.

That's the method for modchip users!

@SylverReZ yeah, I know :/ the unfortunate compromise I'm making to play games without pirating them. At least Steam/Valve are one of the least-evil companies in the space.

You gotta worry about the devs pulling the servers more than steam actually taking away your game tbf

They're not as bad anyways, they made the Steam Deck which first became Steam Machines. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
You gotta worry about the companies selling the games that could pull it from Steam at any given time without warning, and poof, that game is gone from your library.

Steamos machines been around a minute valve just got lucky and released something affordable before everyone else
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@K3Nv3, and that's why I almost exclusively play single-player only games that don't require always-online shit, and for the games that do have an always-online requirement or largely depend on it, the dev/publishers are ones that have a track record of supporting their games longer term

Affordable portable = more steam game salss

or, if we're fortunate to get dedicated servers for games, I'll gladly host one to play on lol
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
If Cod released like a multi-player online for $8 a month they could make a killer bargain with all the games people would rather do that then spend $100 on the crap
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
id rather just never play COD lol
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
