Hi guys,

I have a problem, I can't get any mplayer version to work on my Wii.
I had 3.4E on my Wii and i downgraded it to 3.2E.

I used the twilight hack, and installed the homebrew channel.
Installed every cios I could find, and every time that I try to start up a mplayer I get a black screen. Nothing more, it just hangs.
Have to reset the wii, so I can get on.

With mplayer CE 0.5 I now get the following error:

Exception (Alignment) occurred!

LR 8000w458 SRR0 800326a4 SRR1 0000a032 MSR 00000000
DAR 80f90191 dsisr 00000308

Stack Dump:
800326a4 --> 8000e458 --> 8021ca24 --> 800cec4c -->
800043a4 --> 80607544 --> 806074e0
Reload in 8 seconds

I don't know how to resolve this. I don't have anything connected to my wii, just the sd card.

Hope someone can help me.

Thanks

no it's not configured for shares.

I downloaded it, and put it on my sd card.

Do I need it? I put a avi file on the root of my sd card

I have lots of problems to watch some videos on my wii woth mplayer_ce.
It is not related to a single movie, but it often freezes or gives a blank screen on some parts of the movie. Sometimes the vídeo freezes and the audio keeps playing...

I tested it even with SMB and directly with usb...

Is it related to some known bug ?

thanks...

just installed 0.5 and it works great! .. love the auto screen size , wireless smb workin good .. will try DVD and USB later but as i never really use those its not high on the list :] .. thanx alot you guys , great work , keep it up .. you have many fans (my wife loves you guys!!).

oh and the animated forwarder channel on wadder.net is a nice addon for those looking for something like that.

ok, i've searched all over the web for this and yet to find an answer or even a similar scenario.

In short, I can't connect to my NAS via smb. I have a 500GB external HD mounted in a enclosure with NAS support with ip 192.168.1.98.
There are 2 folders on it one called public one called private and none of them is passport protected I have the setting as follows:

#Samba share1 (smb1:/)
ip1=192.168.1.98
share1=public
user1=
pass1=

with the network debug on, it kept giving smb1 error.

I created a share folder on my xp computer and mplayer ce smb is able to connect it right a way. So it must be the smb HD's problem.

Anyone else is doing the same thing? How are you connecting the drive?

thanks,

done it and seems no one is running a stand alone smb HD, all the smb issue are shares on either windows or linux related.

I have updated to 4.0 but MPlayer CE doesn't even start (using HBC), I used tu put my videos on a USB drive, I had installed DVDx and cIOS USB 2.0. I can get back to 3.2 anytime (I have BootMii and a 3.2 Backup) but I want to know if MPlayer works on 4.0 using DVDx and USB drives.

Thx in advance

yes it does work all you have to do is make sure you have cios usb 2.0 installed but as for dvdx i don't know because i never could get it to really work on 3.2. didn't care enough
