Hacking MP3 while playing PSX

I'm trying to get MP3's to work on Playstation games using plugins. I've tried mp3play.prx and that works in regular PSP games and the VSH but won't seem to come up even with a line added on the POPS.txt and it enabled in recovery. Does anyone know how to get it to work or another plugin that will make it work? Thanks.

That plugin simply doesn't work in PSX mode.

Yeah I thought that might be the case. Does anyone know if music.prx or cfw extender work for PSX games?
