so sam n max works with neogamma because it " Writes the Game ID Address(0x80000000) now into the memory at 0x80003184. " ? (its readme) So if this trick doesn't work, the USB loader should be modded do this and it should work, right?

-edit- I just realized neogamma also has a usb loader embedded right in it?? Anyone tried sam n max with that? (not a burned backup)

And the next one...

NeoGamma plays these games from PATCHED disc, that's it. For the moment. Gamma does not play all these games, even patched.

It's just that it is very possible that you get rid of the need for the patching by replacing the .dol, but the used loader is still incompatible with the game, that's what i'm talking about the whole time.

so you would still need to patch sam n max to ios249 before adding it to the HD then?
gawd this is so weird that this slipped under the radar of so many..

ah, I see. well, better than nothing I suppose.

I'll still give sam and max a quick try though, hey, never know.
It'll only take what, 5 minutes of my time.
No biggie. If it doesn't work, nice to know there is an option to play a backup via disc. thanks for the heads up that way Wiipower.

I guess i"ll still replace the dol for house of the dead 2 than, since I would very much prefer to load it via usb.

I see no reason why a patched iso wouldn't work on it's usb loader then really..
no need to make it so big n red wiipower

You see no reason, but i understand WHY you need to patch in the 1st place and i understand WHY all these games do not work for usb loaders at the moment, see this for more details:
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=123307

Gamma is not able to play Sam & Max from patched disc, only if you add the small fix to it, it's able to play the game from patched disc. It's still loading its IOS itself.

PS: I'm not saying the game will never work from usb, just not now.

Yes, I know you have to patch because the game reloads IOS while in the game, stopping USB. So if a game is patched to load IOS249 it wouldn't stop IOS249. So what is stopping USB loaders? Is it the fact of reloading IOS's itself? That that interruption crashes the game no matter if it wants to reload cIOS?

With that post @ usb loaders I just wanted to point out to the various usb loader coders that there is a fix that works with neogamma, and that they should look into that and perhaps find a way (a start)

The IOS Reload terminates the usb storage. Even if you redirect the IOS Reload to the cIOS by patching the game to IOS249, the usb storage is dead after the reload. A reinit could only happen from the ppc side, from the game, and not from the arm side, the cIOS. But thanks, i got some idea thinking about it, but don't get your hopes high.

Hmmm so unless we can somehow spoof that reload (tell the game that it reloaded when in fact it did not) or remove it altogether (which I don't think will happen) it doesn't sound good

actually you can do that by opening the iso with wiiscrubber and replace the main.dol with the other dol file in the same partition.
the game starts then after the controller screen and works like a charm from usb

yeah mortal kombat, but not sam n max, that reloads after u start the first episode, that's a problem

My Dear Fellows

There is no need to scrub, mod or do anything with the ROM. It's playable with USB Loader, just need 1 adjustment only.

This is what I did (my Wii doesn't have a mod chip, so relax).

a. Download MKA Rom
b. Copy it to my HDD using WiiBackup Manager 0.3x
c. Attach HDD to Wii and launch USB Loader
d. Go to MK-Armgaddeon and press 1 on the controller (Do not press A otherwise it will launch the game).
e. Look for ALT DOL and select MK7.DOL in there, instead of the default one.
f. Press '2' to save this.
g. Launch and enjoy the game.

Message me if you run into another wall by any chance.

Hi everyone, i need some help... i try MKA with usb loader gx and load fine, but the wiimote and nunchuck moves dont work.... all the buttons work perfectly.

Any suggest?

Sorry for my english...

What's the problem with MK Armageddon? It runs perfect from usb with CFG alt-dol MK7.dol, or from disc with NeoGamma.

Hi, my problem is: i run MK armageddon with usb loader gx and work fine, no black screen, but when i wanna play all the moves that supposed to do with the wiimote or nunchuk don't work, as if no movement detected... all the buttons work perfectly....

I try the .dol solution and nothing....
