DPGEnc produces very nice DPGs at ~500kbps and 128kbps mp2. I use updated binaries of mencoder and the rest (e.g. twolame) and configure ffdshow profiles to decode both video and audio in DPGEnc (postprocessing is important!). Results are very satisfactory considering the DS' limitations. DPGEnc is better than BatchDPG at this point (probably produces bigger files though). The biggest nag was installing Directshow splitters for funky containers like MP4 and MKV. Thankfully Gabest wrote decent splitters for those!

@JereTHEend thanks for the skin I'm going to try it now!

Btw no luck finding a working reset.mse for R4 cards?

With MoonShell 2, is it much better than the original MoonShell at watching movies? I've been looking for the maximum video bitrate I can convert movies to, along with the framerate. I also wonder about a solution to the off sync between audio and video that occurs in lengthy videos, but I guess I mostly have short videos anyway. I want to get rid of as many of the boxy graphics as possible, if bitrate helps. :/

I currently set BatchDPG to a video bitrate of 384, maximum 512.

Yea watching movies is much better now, I watch a 2 hours movie with no lip syncing issue. Also during the action scene it doesn't become block like it used to be. But to have those features I mentioned I believe you need a m3 lite because moonshell takes advantage of its extra ram.

Hey, is it possible to use Moonshell2 with a FAT32 card?
I just can't backup so much data

Hi I'm wolfmanz51,

Here is my second translation of the recent Beta5 of our beloved moonshell by moonlight unfortunately this could be the last release as sadly moonlight might stop due to recent events Thank you for Every thing Moonlight We LOVE you.

I have included a skin folder this time and my new skin "RED Reaction2" if you wish to use my new skin just place this folder in your moonshell 2 folder and follow the readme instructions. Also the tools should work properly now as I changed the file names. you can now make your own skins Have fun. Acekard users should be able to use this release right out of the box as check disk is disabled. last but not least my translation was improved. have fun

This allow you to launch .GBA files directly from Moonshell 2.00Beta5.

Included in the download are updated reset.mse 's (.nds's) for DSLink and R4 apparently (I believe some people were looking for it)

Now if anyone has one for the M3DSreal (M3DS.nds) ...

cheers

So how should I encode my videos now with Moonshell 2 Beta 5?

Also, does anyone have a problem where when watching a video, the reverse button isn't actually a button, but it shows a word instead?

Do those slot 2 expansion packs really improve video playback on moonshell 2? Cause I'm using it without one and it seems pretty good to me already.

how do i get this moonshell version running normally for my cyclods? I mean i want to load it instantly using the home menu, if you know what i mean. i don't want to go into roms and select "moonshl2.nds".

I'm using beta5 (english translation), however when i choose "random play" for any mp3s, the playback remains in order!

Anyone with the same issue or a solution?

What do you mean you can't back up so much data? The maximum size of a MicroSD on retail is 16GB. Even on a slow computer that wouldn't take much longer than one hour to back up.
