Dude, if you really want your mom to switch over your internet plan, don't go over it. one of my friends tried that. he got his computer taken away, they called school so he couldn't go on the internet there, and everyday he was brought to school and after school home. only to study all night.

Yep, and it does make a difference; 1 kB = 8kb
So he may be getting 320 kb/s (40kB x 8) which is what ISPs measure it in.
