There's no need to update to 4.3
4.3 is only better secured for hacks.
So just stay on 4.2.

When you use 42mod for modding, IOS58 is installed.

Download the latest version of CFG and go to options and see what it says. I didn't test each wad when I put that file pack together, I just downloaded them with modmii and zipped em up.

Finally got around to doing that today and CFG reports them as being the versions they say they are.
So its just an issue with Wiiflow not detecting them properly.

What version of priiloader is this guide using?

I know it says priiloader 236 but is it .3,.4,.5 ext?

From looking at the meta.xml from the priiloader folder from the downloaded 4.3 pack it looks to be .4 but the main question i have about that is if i remember correctly .4 will not boot into the new HBC because its not looking for the right ID correct?

I know .5 priiloader was taken down due to the HBC bug and the potential of causing bricks but why wasn't the .6 release ever added to the guide?

Or is just an assumed work around to get the HBC from priiloader .4

priiloader -> bootmii ios -> HBC?

*It's been awhile since ive been into priiloader on my wii so i can't remember if .4 even has the option to goto bootmii ios *

Hello. I´m having a problem hacking my Wii and I´m a noob with this.
I was following the guide, I have a Black Wii with 4.3E.
I´ve done the hack with Lego Batman.
I´ve runned the hack and installed Homebrew Channel and Bootmii.
I´ve made a NAND backup and then I started installing the apps.
I´ve installed the Trucha´d IOS slot 236 and then I was trying to install the YAWM Multimod Batch, but I can´t.
It gives me a code dump. And then i see those words in red and i´ve read it and then I put the SD card in my computer and erased the wm_config.txt file inside the wad directory.
Then I put the SD card in the Wii and I was trying to install again the YAWM Multimod Bacth.
This time I had to manually select the IOS 236 but there´s no option to select the SD card.
After I select the IOS 236, I press A button and then give me the code dump again!
What can I do? Thanks

I've had the same problem and all i did was re-do the Trucha ios step and then try the yawm multimod step again. Hope that helps.

Humm.. But you uninstalled the Trucha ios? Or just installed again? Because i´ve tried in that day too to install again the trucha ios and gaved me the code dump.. But I will try to do it once more time.

No i didn't uninstall i just installed it again. Was a while ago but i think i had to do it a couple of times and it eventually worked.

Just passing on some experiences i've had. I've recently modded two wii's that showed sm 4.3 but using the 43mod files, neither have loaded yawm multimod (and deleting the config doesn't work). Exactly the same as the above mentioned. They code dump every time. One also failed to install 236 mod the first time but then worked eventually. The way i got these to work was to update online then everything worked perfectly. So i'm thinking there must have been at least two different sm4.3 updates over time?? The files in the 43mod pack obviously work with the latest updates and not the earlier ones. Maybe this has been mentioned in an earlier post but i have not read the last 500 pages of posts!! Hope this helps anyone with a similar problem. This is by far the best pack/guide going round.

Once the ahbprot bug is fully fixed, and it is proven no bricks come from an app, the guide will be updated.

For now, you can use the launch title option inside priiloader, and yes you can launch bootmii from .4.

I'm rehacking my Wii (due to an accident with Pimp My Wii, and a subsequent bootmii restore bringing it back to a previous but not recent state)...

I'm at 4.2U. Should I update to 4.3U before following the steps, or do you recommend that I leave it and do the 4.2U steps?

Since my Wii has been hacked previously, is there any danger in reinstalling BootMii and/or Priiloader?

Just stay on 4.2U
You can reinstall the complete softmod.
Just do EVERY step again.

Hi guys:

A friend of mine's kids partially broke their Wii - the SD slot doesnt work anymore - I tried to update the Wii running the files off of a FAT32 connected hard drive, but I get an error about the SD card.

Is there any way to run these files off of a hard drive instead of an SD card?

Thanks in advance for your time and assistance.

Well... You could always update the wii online...? Also, this made be a hardware issue.. if it is.. Deadlyfoez offers replacements.

It is a hardware issue - the Wii sustained blunt force trauma, to put it mildly. What I wanted to do is update to the latest DX2 revs, but I can't seem to do it from the hard drive.

I tried to do it with MMM - to install the latest DX2 revs there, but got a different error about the hard drive....

Can you see the apss on your hard drive in the homebrew channel?

Use the files in the file pack. It is automated and won't crash. You don't need to install the IOS36-64-3351.wad, you need to have it on the root of the sd card, as it is in the filepacks provided following the OP.

QUOTE(Pyrate02 @ Mar 29 2011, 09:33 AM) Hi:

Yes - the apps are there but dont work and I get an error about the SD card, or the lack thereof.

Thanks...

Try Wiimod? See if it can install the wads from usb.
