Yeh my bad... I've finished the guide

I accidentally opened cIOSCorp Which installed something really old from like a year ago... It said something like cIOS49 rev14 will this affect anything, Do I need to re do anything from this guide to undo it??

Run cioscorp uninstaller then install the cios wads in the guide. ( 249, 250, 222, etc )

To get monster hunter tri to work i read i need IOS 223 and IOS38 merged with IOS60 and also Custom IOS 223 and IOS38 merged with IOS60.

I'm gussing the wads
cIOS223[38]-v4.wad
cIOS222[38+37]-v4.wad

dont have the merges? anyway to include these with the package?

But I already have HBC installed wouldn't it clash? and just to confirm this guide still works perfectly when upgrading to 4.2 etc

it will just reinstall hbc, nothing will happen.

hey xzxero, theoritical question about your guide:
Assuming someone updated officially through nintendo to 4.2 (obviously not possible now since 4.3) or they have a virgin 4.2 wii, should they start from "modifying 4.2" without any extra steps?

in other words, does the official install differ from manually installing the IOS and system menu? (besides the offline vs online of course)

only difference is that the xzxero's and NUSAD's updates don't install STUB IOSs or update boot2 (which uninstalls bootmii @ boot2 if installed)

bootmii will not be erased if boot2 was already v4 right?
and stubs are no biggy (I'm just trying to figure out if there are any real consequenses for updating automatically)

Just follow the guide exactly to what the instructions say and you will be fine. The guide will update you to system menu 4.2 and remove all the stubs.

Doesn't work though, freezes to black screen after title menu when i try to start the game.

Do not update via Nintendo to 4.3.

Follow the tutorial exactly.

looking for some help probably an older topic, I am following the steps to update my old 3.2u to the 4.2u because someone was using my wii and now I cant load games or do anything really. Able to boot the wii and load home brew as I was soft modded before but thats all really.

So following these steps I have the files loaded onto a card and I am able to get to the yet another wad manager in home brew. I click load and it goes to black screen and the wii remote shuts off (this is what happens now when I try to load games or do anything with my wii). I let it sit for 15min to make sure it wouldnt do anything and I have to hold the power button to get it to shut off

your HBC is fucked

bannerbomb yawmm, install IOS61

then bannerbomb the hackmii installer and reinstall the HBC

edit: 2 confirm I know exactly what ur problem is, hit/tap reset after u get the blackscreen while trying to load anything from the HBC, and it should take u back to the HBC

I tried tapping reset while it was on black screen nothing happens. All I can do it hold the power button, im going to try your NUS auto dl now hopefully get something if not I guess im going have to update to 4.3 to see if that allows it to work and hope it gets hacked sometime
