Well this is weird. I followed the guide step by step a week ago and was able to mod my sister's wii fine. I installed cIOScorp and it plays games off disc backup no problem.

Then today I tried to do a friend's, and everything seemed to install ok, but backups won't load. I keep getting a 'error reading disk' or whatever. I installed cIOScorp and it doesn't run, and I tried using neogamma R8 and that doesn't load games either. I did notice the guide was different between last week and now concerning the trucha bug remover (last week's guide didn't use GP DOP IOS)... would that make a difference? Anything I should try? Thanks!
Hey I too also have a problem... I've used this guide and successfully downgraded to 4.1 a couple of weeks ago, so now I thought I'd update it to 4.2 now that there's a proper patch with priiloader. But since following this guide, my NSMB backup doesn't work anymore.

It used to work on 4.1, but it Errors instantly after starting the game via the Disc Channel, which I want it to do rather than having to use loaders (for simplicity purposes). All my other backups work, but it's just NSMB that doesn't work.

Just wondering if there would be a solution to this. Thanks heaps

The guide is completely up to date as well

X1pheR: be sure to install the newest HBC (and bootmii if possible), then start the guide from the begining (including the update). You can then skip the installation of HBC and bootmii in the Modify part
Thanks. I don't have to uninstall cioscorp first?
Also do I have to do anything special regarding Priiloader? Like I have it set to load with IOS60. Do I have to change that in advance to IOS70 maybe? I also read somewhere that you have to reinstall Priiloader after a certain step because otherwise you will get a brick with a message displaying that the system files are corrupt or something. Is this true?
Anybody?

In the guide it says to install reccomended things for loading off USB or loading off disc? Is it possible to install all of them for using USB and disc? Or can only one be used?

d3-2 drive in that wii?

See, that's the thing - I have no idea.... looking online it seems like there's no way to tell unless you take the wii apart? Or is there a way to find out?

simply check here your serial number:
http://www.wiidrives.com/

So this will work on a 4.2EU black wii?
And why must we install priiloader, and not preloader?
With the d3-2 dvd drive?

it will work on all wii's except korean ones (even though there isn't such a thing as a 4.2UE wii, its either 4.2U or 4.2E)

u can install preloader if u want instead, but preloader v0.29 HAXX edition will not launch the new homebrew channel. To fix it either install preloader v0.29 JODI, or install preloader v0.29 HAXX + HAXX to JODI forwarder channel. Or you can install priiloader instead, its up to you.

I would recommend downloading the priiloader package from my signature... it has many different versions of priiloader/preloader for you to choose from and more.

please forgive my ignorance but I got lost following these instructions.

I updated to 4.2, made the backups then come to "Restoring the trucha bug"

So I went to the homebrew channel, and I see 4 choices..one of which is Troucha Bug Restorer
i click that then I am prompted to Delete - Load - or Back...i choose load

and i see this

Trucha Bug Restorer 1.1
Select which IOS to load: IOS36
Press B to continue without IOS Reload

I don't see anything about
GP DOP-IOS MOD
or
Install an IOS that accepts fakesigning.

please help this newb
thanks

look here for info on using dop-ios mod v10.1 to restore the trucha bug
http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/ha.../trucha-bug-4-2

to use the version u already have (trucha bug restorer 1.1), just follow steps 2a, 2b and 2c (forget that the steps are for dop-ios mod, they're the same for TBR 1.1)

thanks to that guide (the one posted by xflack) I managed to solve my problems with DOP-IOS.
The thing is, just installing the patched IOS36 didn't work for me. The correct steps were downgrade IOS15 (no IOS reboot), install patched IOS36 (using IOS15), then restore IOS 15 (using IOS36) and then remove all the stubs.

I had no problems with this pack, well, a couple versions ago, before these latest two updates, and a friend of mine, I gave this tutorial too, two versions ago, when the RTB steps were more drawn out, he ran it, and Neogamma says he isn't using 249, and error 1048 when playing from DVD.

Any ideas? I honestly tried searching, and with all the results, I spent about 30 mins searching and couldn't find the same symptoms.

I apologize if this is so easy to answer, I never had a problem, and am pretty good with the Wii, I just am not sure why everything is Disabled, and there is no 249.

This was the pack with 249 and 250 rev 15 included, had him only do rev14 though, since he wants Neogamma.

Thanks!
