I've recently become very interested in modding and coding because of 3DS Hacking, and I, a user who has a n2DS XL currently Homebrewed with Luma, was curious what a good way to get into it would be. I have no real experience with hacking in general minus installing Luma, dumping files, using a Pokemon Randomizer and patching Fates.

I don't have any specific thing I want to be able to do, I just want to learn how to modify files or even create my own so I can, for example make my own characters in Fire Emblem with growths and unique skills, etc.

So what I'm asking is, what would be a good place to start? Is there anything I definitely need? I'm really not sure where to begin, as from my viewpoint it's a lot to take in.

For pokemon games, pk3ds is the best tool.
It lets you do all the gameplay side of things(randomizing, stats, attacks, wild encounters, trainers etc).
For graphics/graphical things, you need to use ohana.

You need to know what you want to do and find a guide that achieves that I suppose.
