What modchips are having trouble? My original WiiKey is working fine with every game released so far for it's region. The only people that are having problems are those using custom IOSs from what I have seen. I don't see any need for any "modchip" specific threads or compatability charts. If people have a specific problem with a specific game they can specify it in that games release thread or create a specific thread about it.

The true problem is that with the introduction of loaders/loader channels/etc. came a flood of people that modify their IOSs and system menu with very little knowledge on what they are doing. They don't keep track of what version of each IOS is loaded on their machine, what CIOSs are loaded on their machine, and which loader uses which cIOS. Good luck if you are maintaining a thread on which loaders work with which games because the loaders seem to change cIOS and settings every couple of days. On top of that most people using loaders who encounter problems don't specify what state (IOS, cIOS, etc.) their Wii is in when they post problems. Most of the time they don't even specify if they are using a modchip or a loader. In my opinion all of those questions should go in a thread for each loader/channel. If anyone is congesting the forum with a wide array of topics and repeated vague questions it is the people using loaders, not modchips.

ill look into it because NTSC games give me a lower quality image over component my tv is NTSC compatible and its not a colour difference issue as contrast levels are fine. It could be possible that as scart can carry RGB svhs(s-video) and composite that NTSC games do not have RGB support and so the wii is dropping down from RGB to composite or svhs but that wouldnt explain why im getting lower quality over componant.

With rgb cable and NTSC output the quality is fine, but it's in red and black. When i mess around with the settings on my tv i get color, but the image quality is crap. I guess the rgb cables transfer the "normal" and the rgb signal at the same time.

The backup loader cIOS files are installed additionally to the nintendo ones. The original ones aren't touched. Are you able to play one of the three 002 error games?

Yes, I understand how backup loaders work. I was simply pointing out that most people don't keep track of what IOSs (and version of IOSs) and cIOSs are installed on their machine. This can leads to lots of confusion when using multiple backup loaders / loader channels as you well know trying to keep track of compatibility.

I can play NFSU(NTSC-U) and DK:JB(NTSC-J) just fine. I haven't tried the other Japanese release giving #002 errors but I assume it is the same. There seems to be a lot of confusion about the update on NFSU. It contains the same IOSs as DK:JB but DK:JB also has a system menu update. Those with modchips can simply allow the NFSU update to install the new IOSs and it will not update their system menu past 3.1 and it will run just fine. There will be no #002 error because you have the required IOS on your machine. Obviously running DK:JB introduces an out of region problem and the update should be removed.
