PS1/2 .mkv on PS3?

The PS3 doesn't even show my .mkv files on my USB HDD. Is there any way to play .mkv videos on PS3?

use PS3 Media Server to stream the mkv to the ps3 or you can convert it to a avchd using avchdcoder, this allows DVD-5 and DVD-9 output but takes a good few hours, well worth it in the end for all your bluray rips

P.S ps3 only supports FAT hdd's so your mkv's that are larger than 4gb will not work anyway, so you will need smaller than 4gb or to split them, you can also set them up as a mp4 or vob in a container and they will play straight away.

That's what I use. Takes 2 minutes to make the mkv file PS3 compatible.
