On a interview to the New York times, Shigeru Miyamoto (a.k.a. God), told that, unlike Gutiar Hero and Rock Band, Wii Music will be a game more focused on music creation and improvising, and is supposed to be to the Wii something like WiiSports and WiiFit are..

Apparently it will be something much bigger and complex than the demos showed at E3 2006.

the whole article is at: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/25/arts/tel...ion/25schi.html

I'm excited about this game.. seems like something different from everything we have today.. will Nintendo change the whole concept of music games now?

Wasn't this game originally for the Gamecube? I do remember Miyamoto working on a music game for that.

OP was correct... Miyamoto (a.k.a. GOD)...

Just think of where we'd be today had it not been for Donkey Kong... Anything that man touches instantly becomes gold in Nintendo's pockets!!

I have a feeling with WiiSports, WiiFit, and now WiiMusic, there won't be a PS4 or third MS system... they are just going to give up!

There was also supposed to be "Wii Motor Sports Airplane".

Wii music at first thought makes me worried but with Miyamoto at the helm it should turn out well. It would be great to see it be the first in a bit of a franchise becoming more in depth over time. It is also nice to see Mr Miyamoto able to get away from doing endless Zelda + Mario sequels and to do some original stuff ( not that there is anything wrong with new Zeldas which I am sure is in dev as we speak.)

Miyamoto is the one behind WiiFit.. and if I'm not mistaken, WiiSports and the whole concept of the Wii too.. I wonder if Nintendo could survive without him

Looking at screenshots, it's a miracle for this game to be an actual hit.

You just move your Wii-mote baton-style and conduct stuff. It's so open-ended.
The Rhythm aspect just looks like an RRR rip-off.

Haha, nonetheless, i'm sure this game would garner many fans.
