Hi, my sister gave me her old Samsung Galaxy S after she found out that she can't connect to the net using WiFi. This happened after she sent it to a samsung repair shop for some repairs.

Anyone know how to restore Wifi connectivity to this phone?

    Thanks!

Depends what the problem was. It could've even been something silly like not actually having a router or not having the password work properly. Anything you can tell us about what happens if you turn WiFi on and try a scan where you know there's an hotspot available?

Well, WiFi shuts off even if I know there is an active hotspot. My 3DS, PC and other phone can connect to the same hotspot.

Shuts off when? Does it connect at first and disconnect when the screen turns off?

Is the phone rooted? You may need to completely clear the Wifi settings, the easiest way to do this is if you're rooted and have Android Terminal Emulator.
