Here's the problem: I want to play Minecraft Classic.
I go to minecraft.net , click on Single Player and it goes to the play page. However, the screen stays black and the game never starts.
I use Chrome and I have the latest version of Java.
What could the problem be?
Thanks.

I'm sure that's not the problem, as I've been trying to play Minecraft Classic for about a month now and failing everytime.
I also tried with Firefox, Internet Explorer and Opera, all of them failed to load Minecraft Classic.

Why play classic when you could just download a cracked version?
Classic isnt updated and its not that interesting.
It is for people that only want to build. You get unlimited materials and have no need to worry about gathering it. Sure you can download plugin on the normal minecraft, but you still have to spawn it through commands/inventory/plugin. Classic mode officially dies next patch though as creative mode will be added next patch which basically does the same, but better organizing system.

Oh fuck. My graphic card is a ATI Radeon HD 3200. Isn't that good enough to play Minecraft?

You don't need a good video card to play minecraft.
You need RAM and a good CPU.

Sorry for bumping this.
Is that really the problem? I've got games like Portal 2, Street Fighter IV, Half-Life and they all run at full speed with good graphics...
Minecraft keeps saying "OpenGL format not accelerated", how do I fix this?
I wanna play minecraft.

My laptop was on XP. Well if you heard of google you can google on where to allow you to manually edit it on W7. You can also try this:
Do this...

put your minecraft.exe in any folder, just make sure you copy the path, and rename it to minecraft.jar

then open notepad, paste this line

java -Xmx800m -jar "PATH\Minecraft.jar

paste the path to the folder where minecraft is into PATH

then click save -> save it as NAME.bat (NAME can be anything that you want)

then from now on, double-click this NAME.bat file to open minecraft... and do not close the cmd that will open...

example:

I put minecraft.jar on C:\

so on notepad I do this:
java -Xmx800m -jar "C:\Minecraft.jar

You open jar files with Java.

Showing the same error. Also, if it makes any difference I'm trying to play regular minecraft offline. Here's what is says:

Bad video card drivers!
-----------------------

Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

Minecraft also ran smoothly on my laptop until i reinstalled xp on it. The only fix that would work out of those i posted on my reinstalled xp laptop would be the first one about Hardware acceleration. Try to google on how to manually edit it if you have no access to change it. Try logging on a admin account if your not. And again i say it. Google on how to get access to it on how to manually edit it if you have no access. Another hint if you still have issues: Minecraft forums.

EDIT: And update your graphic driver.
Do all of these steps first thanks before replying when your only done halfway.
