So I have a minecraft server set up properly and it works great. My friends join with no issue, however I have a friend who lives in Canada and when he attempts to join. It tells him "can't resolve hostname". I'm not sure what to do or what to tell him. If anyone has any idea what's wrong I could definitely use your insight.

    Are you using No-Ip?

EDIT: If yes, then try using your real IP.

Well I've been using a dynamic DNS, but I gave him the real IP and that worked. Any idea why the Dynamic DNS didn't work?

It mostly had to do with the firewall that your friend used.

His ISP's DNS was likely being crappy.
