Miiverse is strict as hell! I said on the balloon fight topic the word "beer" and got warned multiple times. Its funny though, makes you want to push the limit but then you don't. I've seen some pretty funny drawings and comments that I'm sure people were banned over. Which reminds me, is Miiverse still coming to 3DS?

I'm not familiar with the story, did they give him cash because he called someone retarded and Nintendo noticed he was, in fact, retarded? Or is the legend that he got money for whining for being for using words that are common courtesy in many forums (unfortunately)?

He said there was something retarded in a game, and he was banned from Miiverse by a moderator (I think) and then he complained and they apologized and gave him the cash

someone flagged a post i made (as containing sexual explicit content) even thought it had no bad content o.O
a day later i got a message from the miiverse service that they checked out my post and they apologized for the wrong warning lol

I like MiiVerse. Granted I wish it was more organized, but whatever. It's still pretty cool.

Their Ban/Suspension scheme sounds a lot like MiiWehrmacht if you ask me, it's like they're trying to give the users payback for not being able to Ban/Suspend in their earlier Online implementation. They're new in this game and they have to learn that each and every case should be considered individually - I know they're trying to make it friendly for adults and minors alike, but the fact that a user was reported doesn't make him/her an offender, sometimes people report others because they're sour pusses and that's life.

Miiverse is a great instance for Nintendo hear our voices, Iwata himself is monitoring Miiverse time to time, it's how we got Earthbound VC in America.

But I agree it shouldn't be so strict, banning words like beer is too much.

I think I've only reported three people:

1. Someone posted end-game spoilers for Mass Effect 3 without using the spoiler option
2. Someone used a racial slur
3. Someone posted a drawing of a chick giving a guy a blowjob

I've only been on Miiverse a few days, but wow. I haven't had to report anyone yet, but hopefully I don't get to that. Miiverse is rapidly falling apart at this rate.
