I recently came across a full dump of the MIG flash, including its firmware and bootloader. I haven’t seen much discussion about this, so I wanted to ask about its potential usefulness and whether anything meaningful can be done with it.

From what I understand, it could theoretically be used to create cheaper clones of the card, but that’s not really my interest. What I’m more curious about is whether it could serve as a foundation for research—specifically, the development of an open-source firmware that could be loaded onto the card. Ideally, this could help explore ways to bypass Nintendo’s detection when using a legitimate dump.

Mind sharing further details, or how you identified this? I'd be interested in watching the talk but doesn't appear to be uploaded to their YouTube channel yet.

(I mean besides the fact that uploading files that contained Nintendo ip would be suicide)

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has some pretty advanced protections, like newer kernel calls and anti-piracy stuff, so you might need specific Mig Switch firmware updates to get around them.
