I don't really see a western console do well in Japan. Hell, even I gave up the Xbox mumbo-jumbo and started playing my PS3 JRPGs. Much more fulfilling and meaningful than half the FPS's that get released for the 360.

Hey, It's not that I HATE FPS's, its just I've played so many I've grown somewhat tired of the genre. And no, I don't hate my 360, I just happen to like the PS3's game library better. But you're right, quite a bit of those FPS's are both on the 360 and PS3, so I apologize for my ignorance.

Hey, It's not that I HATE FPS's, its just I've played so many I've grown somewhat tired of the genre. And no, I don't hate my 360, I just happen to like the PS3's game library better. But you're right, quite a bit of those FPS's are both on the 360 and PS3, so I apologize for my ignorance.

The PS3 has actually a larger FPS library. The Xbox 360 also has a decent (I won't say great but definitely competent) library of JRPGs.

I dead certain if microsoft didn't charge you for multiplayer, the 360 would be doing better. I stop buying 360 games over a year ago because of live fees.

Doesn't stop the success of it in the West though.

Alright, I'm calling bullshit. Every country has its stupid people and its smart people, with Japan being no exception. The only difference is that in the United States, they are just given more attention to.

I'm sorry, but statements like, "the United States is so stupid" just bugs the crap out of me. It's a stupid statement that has been made a thousand times before; it's tiring and played out, at this point.

As for the actual topic, I applaud Microsoft for trying. I just think their problem is that they most cater to Western sensibilities, and customers in Japan have trouble looking past that when MS tries to sell to them.

Microsoft says that every time something goes AWOL in the public eye. It's quite funny! I'm waiting for "Easter Island is important to us," and also "French Polynesia is important to us"... not to mention "Antarctica is important to us"

But it is a challenging market for Xbox. So it still is important. I don't get it.

Ontopic-Microsoft has never really catered to the gaming niche that is Japan. It's an American company with American interests and will survive so long as there are American gamers. The Xbox 360 has a handful of fantastic JRPGs but if that's all you play, you should probably look into another system...
