I just received my DSTT (literally just now, the UPS truck just left), and before i put files on my microSD i want to know about the FAT16 vs FAT32.

What's the difference between FAT16 and FAT32? And how will it affect my game play?

So thats 1 vote for FAT32 and 2 for FAT16. Lol.

I'm not 100% sure, but, I believe that FAT16 is for MicroSD's with 2GB's or less, and FAT32 is for MicroSD's that hold over 2GB's. I'm not sure if I'm correct though...

the DSTT supports both so... maybe you can gain some space with the FAT32... try to format with both and compare or simply format it and put some roms right now

NEWSFLASH!!!!

Okay so I put in my roms, my skin( i made, SSBB metaknight) and it's on a FAT16 right now. So far everything's good, MarioKartDS (fav DS game) is running perfectly. Will try few more roms then switch to a FAT32 later.

Its probaly gonna be the same

Eh. The FAT32 seemed to save faster and load a "little" faster. I'm going with that.

EDIT:::

FAT32 was only running faster on games i already had a save on. It seemed a lot slower. I'm going with FAT32, btw im using a Patriot 2GB microSD
