MH4U is not the only game having that problem. Gateway games in general have that problem and if you close the device and put it in sleep mode there is a -chance- that it might hang when you try to close the game, which makes the save completely corrupt. If you don't have a backup you're screwed. CIAs probably don't have this problem, but certainly don't quote me on that.

Here's another thread on the subject: https://gbatemp.net/threads/need-help-lost-140hs-on-mhu4.383474/

Personally I lost my 30 hour Persona Q save due to this bug. Afterwards I've been carefully taking backups all the time using SaveDataFiler and a backup script I made that automatically backups all saves on the SD card if it is inserted into my computer. You can find that script here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/need-help-lost-140hs-on-mhu4.383474/#post-5386979 However it only works on OS X, not on Windows or Linux (Linux compatibility should probably be quite easy to get).

I'm sorry for your loss man, there's nothing you can do about it. The save is completely gone unfortunately. Until Gateway fixes this problem (I've never seen or heard of it before GW 3.0) you'll need to backup saves. Often.

I haven't had a game hanging upon closing since GW 2.something, before they added the "real time" saving.
I used to have that problem a lot but it seems like they have fixed it.
I never got corrupted saves but my M&L save was reverted once.

Anyway, I don't think this has anything to do with his problem, as he can't even play the game (and OR/AS is a card2 game so it saves immediately to the card anyway, not upon closing)

So going the .CIA route on the game would be better? (Note that we go online using private headers due to that banning shenanigan)

An error occured is mostly caused by fake microsd, it might work the first time you copy the game to the microsd, but it gets corrupt after a few days

The big SD card is where all the Gateway saves are stored. I don't think "Strontium" is a good brand, so that's likely the cause of your lost saves.
Strontrium is supposed to be some super-fast SD cards. I can't vouch for their quality, they seem pretty new as I've only seen them recently. They might be good though.

if it's suppose to be a fast Write card and your write speed is less than 10MB/s then it's likely to be a fake card

Hello, sorry for the up,but before buying a new card, how i format it?I format the emunand and then??
