I did it for myself, but I will share it here too.

Mod that increases resolution of docked mode to 1080p and handheld to 720p. Also disables dynamic resolution (for this thanks to @fl4sh_ )

Compatible only with 1.1.0.

Put folder "atmosphere" to root of sdcard, merge folders, run game. For emulator mods look at @fl4sh_ mods.

Overclocking obviously is required.

No mod handheld / mod 720p / no mod docked downscaled to 720p / mod 1080p downscaled to 720...

Is overclocking also required for handheld?

I would love to see no-OC requirement, higher res but 30fps (don't think 30 vs. 60 makes a big difference in handheld).

Thanks for sharing this! It looks so much better, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced any game crashes with this mod? About 2 hours into the game in the Volt Forge "Test Circuit Security" room after getting Vi-O-La it seems to consistently crash for me when switching to the Psychic Visor. I'm unsure if it happens with other rooms, but the visor appears to be working in other rooms I've tested. It happens in both Handheld and Docked but there's no issues once the mod is removed

Yes.

Got for now 2 issue reports regarding mod:
- bringing up physics visor in desert area causes crash. It's probably memory exhaustion related to 1080p buffers (they are used in both modes, so it affects everyone). I guess I will need to lower their resolution a little bit, how much we will see.
- When using control beam white lines don't match expected results. To investigate.

Thanks for the mod, ignore the 2 posters stating the obvious, it seems they haven’t done much modding or OC before so they don’t know what to expect.

Works well enough for me, like Metroid remastered did.

Both issues are now fixed.
I am now attaching 2 patches - one is with dynamic resolution blocked, second is with dynamic resolution untouched (for people that want to use lower OC).

It's in the first post.

It should just load when you start the game without saying anything. Once you're in game you should be able to notice the sharper resolution, but you can also use the Status Monitor overlay to tell you the resolution if you're unsure.

Just run the game and its OK.

Also got report that when using psychic visor, resolution is lowered to 78% handheld/75% docked in patch with DR blocked. I guess I will fix that. :P

Ok fixed it. Thanks to @fl4sh_ for pointer.
