Metroid: Other M announced
New Metroid game by Team Ninja
During Nintendo's E3 2009 press conference, an entirely new Metroid game for the Wii was announced. With both Nintendo and Team Ninja working on the title, it's certainly looking good and is a major step from the norm when comparing it to other Metroid titles.

Looking to play in either a third person or 2D perspective (it's hard to judge from the trailer), the game looks very unique and will finally offer full voice acting within a Metroid game.

Check out the unveiling video below, and stay tuned to major gaming sites for more info.

It's definitely a full 3D Action-Adventure with first person aiming included. Watch at 1:13ish, you can clearly see Samus running straight down. This is a Ninja Gaiden Metroid. And this is going to be freaking AWESOME.

I'm just hoping they don't stray too far away from old Metroid. Finding unlockables, puzzles, platforming, and exploring. I'm also not a huge fan of the art style either. Maybe I just got to use to retro's look. No big deal really. I'm just glad they added a story for once. I'm getting tired of all Nintendo titles having no or the same story.

This looks pretty damn good. Team Ninja and Nintendo making a Metroid game. Who'd of though?

Okay, forgetting this is part of the Metroid series, this looks freaking awesome.
Remembering again that it's part of the Metroid Series though, it looks far too much like Ninja Gaiden, I can't see how exploration, unlockables and the like can be used to the effect that makes me love Metroid games so much. The combat looks hella fun, but that's only half of why people play metroid. Thankfully, the story looks like it's meant to be deeper and more cinematic though which is great.

EDIT: Also, am I the only person who really doesn't like the graphics? Like Ninja Gaiden it looks really plastic-y, all the models are really shiny and not very textured at all.

Check out 1:23 look at Samus running. Looks exactly like Ryu running. This game better just be very unfinished. I don't want it being to close to Ninja Gaiden. I'm already confused as to how items will be hidden and found...I'm just to close to retros vision I guess..art is a little to funky also..

But still. This just made me tear up and yell when I layed my eyes on it...

This is a nice reboot for the series.. I would never expect that.. might not be a new IP, but Nintendo is doing something pretty radical (for their standards) giving Metroid to Team Ninja.

Looking a lot more darker, serious and fast paced. If they're able to keep the whole exploration aspect from the series this will be great.

Now, I'm really curious to know.. What the hell is RETRO working in!?

I'm not gonna flame it until I actually play it, but its just a radical redo of everything metroid.
I like some things, both 2D and 3D parts ect...
buut...
it just won'tfeel the same.
Huge fan of metroid, so I guess its good news. but WHAT? NO DREAD YET?!?

I watched the trailer it looked all 3D. I was really hoping for a full 2D Metroid game on the Wii but I guess we still have to wait for it. But the New Super Mario Bros was a surprised. I really like the DS version and I wanted a new 2D mario for the Wii
