Gaming Metroid Fusion/Zero Mission

How are they related, in terms of storyline, is one a sequel?
Just want to know so I know which one to play first.

Zero Mission is an update/remake of the original Metroid for NES.
In the chronology of the Metroid universe, it (and the original) take place before all the other games.
Fusion takes place after all the other games.

Well you can always just play them in order they got released.
Fusion seems more like a side story to me, but still fun.
Zero Mission takes you back to the roots of Metroid 1 and expands on it.

Both fun games though.

zero mission came out chronologically later and is a better game, so play fusion first, saving the best for last.

I'm hoping that the next game will be in the style of the none Prime games (though I love them) and will be set after the events of Fusion.

They either need to do a compilation of many of the old 2D Metroids, or just make an all-new one for DS.

Metroid Dread is only a rumor but man i wish it was true either that or a remake of the legendary Super Metroid for the DS

Really? I am a huge Metroid fan, and Fusion is one of my favorite Metroid games. Everything about it I love.

These two games are awesome. Fusion started me getting into the Metroid series! As for Dread, Nintendo announced not too long ago that they aren't currently working on it.

I kinda hated the linear style of fusion. prime series never felt exactly right for some reason.

a update/colorized version of metroid 2 would be nice to try out since the original gameboy version unavailable in the original cart in my area.
