I suppose, but like I said, you shouldn't rely on it entirely but it can be a solid resource at times
That is very true but sadly some people will just see the score and buy without actually checking the game which is the problem. Educated consumers are need in the market

metacritics critic score is alright. better than anything else we have on offer other than a singular opinion you trust.

fuck the user scores tho.

Why is a random game bloggers opinion more valid than random game players opinion?

Because the internet is full of trolls. Just browse around and you'll see fanboyism everywhere. People will literally vote a game 1 because its not on their system.

If the user score only included users honest opinions who'd played the game, then it could possibly be the best way to measure how good a game is.

Sadly the internet is full of too many trolls and immature fucks that like to ruin it for everyone else.

This exactly.

I don't give a fuck about the actual Metacritic score, but I find the site useful, as it collects several reviews.
I can then easily check what people that think the game is good, medium or bad have to say.
Having different written point of views is nice for me, but not the actual score.

They're usually a good indicator but again, it's just people giving their opinion on a game they played.

For reviewers I'd stick to SomecallmeJohnny, Angry Joe, ProJared and maybe AVGN. Watching a gameplay video of said game is helpful too as it can determine if it suits you or not.
