looks a lot like the concept the anime Accel World introduced, although they didn't use glasses in the anime but some sort of collar thing. though, i think i'm better off keeping my attention at looking where i'm going, instead of looking up unimportant stuff on reddit or facebook. xD

The hardware is innovative!

For those who are saying it looks unfashionable, the product you see in the video is NOT FINAL! The more sleek, consumer version of the glass will come out next year.

Google Glass does not track hands. It does not have a depth camera, so there is no way to accurately track any object at anytime (beside location!).

Oculus Rift is totally different and cannot be compared.

For those who say this technology is useless is not visionary. Blind people can use it to aid them when going about. This technology can even be used to auto-pilot vehicles and other type of carriers. The glass can highlight piano keys to teach new students how to play the piano. People can use the glass' calculation to help them learn in sports. There is so much possibilities that dismissing it as useless is absurd.

I was ready to say how silly these are until I read this post.
Looking forward to them now. :)

They cover the entire field of view (Google Glass only covers the top right corner of your right eye's vision), it displays in 3D, and it has a 3D camera for depth/distance measurement so it tracks motions in 3D better, and can create the overlay effect without the need for AR glyph cards.

oh right, I completely missed that :P
yeah, that makes sense. I thought Google Glass could do all of that ... well I'm disappointed now

If I saw anyone wearing that giant thing on their head while walking down the street, I'd burst into laughter.
