...Now why would someone spend years developing something not to release it?

I get the feeling the space between your ears is vacant.

I wonder what took windows 7 so long to get released after the failiure of windows vista. hmm..
i swear it couldve been released 4 days after vista.

Start looking for what "development hell" is.

In this particular case, the bad practice of not following an stablished roadmap (changing it a lot with "let's add this now" or "let's change this"), can make you fall in development hell. I don't think soulanger is fooling us, I just think he is changing his mind a lot and that may not be good to his hb. Remember this hb had many announced ETAs.

But please remember, ETA stands for ESTIMATED time of arrival. Estimates change as features are added, bugs are discovered, etc.

HURR DURR DURR.. SEVEN LOOKS LIKE VISTA. ITS TEH SAEM!!!

I guess by your logic, Windows 95 and 98 were the same...
And 95 and 98 were the same as 2000...
And 2000 was the same as ME...

Continuously bumped ETA's are also a sign of 'Development Hell'.
It's also a sign of possible vaporware. Software or hardware that is talked about and talked about and talked about, but nothing comes of it.

And for the one who posted all the MENUdo sigs.... they don't really mean anything.

It took me more time to find the Sean Connery Celeb Jeopardy ep than it did to make the "sig".

my beta couldnt even access wifi. is this what you want?

seesh. obvious troll is obvious

Now see here, Mr Penis Mightier, the difference between our gamecards and yours is, ours actually update when we play games. You can see it happen real-time. Your icons also don't pixelate as they grow larger, this is unavoidable with DS game icons.

You also forgot to complain saying all of the photos and videos are fake.

Now, SoulAnger keeps changing his mind? I think not. He's adding features he's wanted from the start. The ONLY thing he's changed his mind on is the name, but hasn't chosen a new name for it yet. Suggestions for VAPORdo or SHOVELos (or similar) will result in flames.

Oh, and the comment about fgg's ignorance isn't right either. Where did he claim Vista == 7? If he claimed that, then he would also be suggesting MENUdo == existing menus. His comment is more showing that it takes a long time to code something new and decent. Also, 7 is heavily modified Vista, earlier builds even required a base Vista install before being able to install 7.

Now seriously, get the hell out. This is the MENUdo Q&A thread.

He claimed that 7 could/should have been released "4 days after vista".

i swear it couldve been released 4 days after vista. While being COMPLETELY oblivious to all the changes and performance enhancements that are 'under the hood'.

Wrong again.
Earlier builds of Windows 7 -- Build 69xx from PCD'08 -- DID have the Windows Vista installer, but that was because that version was very much unofficial, it was a drive image copied off one of the Demo PCs. Because it was a drive image it had NO installer, so to make it easy to install (normally you had to take the somewhat obscure image type and mount it as a drive) some took the files and made an installer using available resources, which was Vista's installer.

Now seriously, learn what the hell you're talking about.

the 4 days thing simply refers that good code doesn't take a short period of time to complete.

Which means you STILL think that there is no difference Vista and 7.

wait. what? i don't understand your logic.Let me explain to you what YOU are saying...

i swear it couldve been released 4 days after vista. This statement, where you wonder why Windows 7 took so long, then say that it could have been 'released 4 days after vista.' means YOU don't know what the difference between Vista and 7 is... which from a purely VISUAL standpoint is somewhat understandable.
I say somewhat because it ignores things like the Jump lists off taskbar items.

While the statement is correct, it further enforces your previous statement that Windows 7 is no better than Vista by implying that 7 should have taken longer since according to you there was only approximately '4 days' of work done between the two.

Let me rephrase it then.

I wonder what took windows 7 so long to get released after the failiure of windows vista. hmm..
i swear it would've been worse if released 4 days after vista.
