Hacking memcard.raw to memcard.bin

Hello,

I have been trying to locate a guide or any info about how to convert a raw gamecube memory card into the memcard.bin format that devolution uses. I kept seeing people saying to use dolphin or gcmm and rawtools but I am at a loss.

Devolution supports only a raw memory card dump, be it first party or third.

Note that memcard.bin is the name devo uses, it is still compatible with Dolphin and the extension is the only difference. Nintendont on the other hand only supports third party dumps.

Does this mean I can change the extension from .bin to .raw and vis versa? I have tried to load the memcard.bin into dolphin but its GC manager throws an error.

Thanks, I will give this a try. The error wasn't a program error, just that it could not read the memcard.bin file. It only wanted .raw or .gcp

You can change .bin to .raw for memory cards, it doesn't matter.
Dolphin should read them.

I have done so and I haven't had a single error with the memory cards yet.
