Hacking Media streaming from PC to Wii?

Hi!

I wondered if there are any homebrew apps released yet which will allow me to stream video from my PC to Wii, like you can on 360. I would much prefer to use my Wii for the simple fact the 360 sounds like a tornado!

you could also install tversity on PC and stream videos from internet channel. I tried, it works but quality is not good.
 
But this is because the video is transcoded to flash for the Wii. I also use Tversity as a server for my uPnP media reader and it is really great (and free

).
 
The latest unofficial build MplayerWii supports streaming of SMB shares. Of course, this option has been available for awhile but this one allows you to browse an entire folder of shares. You can find it here.

I tested it this morning and it seems to work with nearly all the files I have shared except MKV.
 
Brilliant, thanks, I hadn't been keeping up to date with MPlayer and had no idea this feature was now present!
