I'm finally done with my Media Forwarder and decided to open a new thread for it

Here's the readme with information and instructions:
Media Forwarder

coded by SpaceJump - (12/18/08)
Contact: PM through GBAtemp ;-)
-------------------------------

This is a little app / channel that combines the four Wii Media Players GeeXboX, MPlayerWii,
MPlayer Twiizer Version and MPlayerWii Mod (rodries) into one app / channel. The Media Forwarder
loads the media apps from the front sd. The paths are as followed:
- GeeXboX: /apps/geexbox/boot.elf
- MPlayerWii: /apps/MPlayerWii/boot.dol
- MPlayer Twiizer: /apps/MPlayer/boot.dol
- MPlayerWii: /apps/MPlayerWii_rodries/boot.dol

They are the same paths that the Homebrew Browser uses. That means if you downloaded the apps with
the Homebrew Browser, all paths are set for the Media Forwarder.

Choosing the loaded media player:
---------------------------------
You have two ways of choosing which media player to load:

1. When launching the Media Forwarder Channel, hold A on the Wiimote. You will then get a little menu where you
can choose a media player with the Wiimote's digipad.

2. When launching the Channel, simply hold down one direction on the Wiimote's
digipad for the media player to load (directions are shown on screen, the same as above).

Besides that you can specify a favorite media player in the media_forwarder.conf config file. This
favorite media player will be loaded automatically, if no button is pushed on the Wiimote.

changes:
--------
- v0.1: initial release

usage:
------
1. Install MediaForwarderBlue.wad or MediaForwarderGreen.wad using WadManager, or inject the dols
into your own wads
2. Copy the file "media_forwarder.conf" into the root of the sd
3. Edit "media_forwarder.conf" and change the path to your favorite media player
3. Put your SD card back into the Wii and launch the installed channel from 1

why have 2 different MPlayerWii, yes 1 is official 1 isn't but Rodries, Tipo's and AgentX's updated release combines an All In One.....MPlayerWii, just a query spacejump

well like that you can set in .conf wich button will start wich homebrew so that you can define your own buttons and homebrew that would be awsome

These four are the ones that can be downloaded through the Homebrew Browser, so I chose them.

i thought only rodries r20 is on HBB, didn't think 007 official was still on there, ohwell i don't really go on it much..iv'e also signed up to it now, got the confirm on wii today, it stopped my stride on COD5 ahhhhhhrrghhh lol

Can Dragon Media Player be downloaded through HBB? If so, that would be a fine choice.

Yes, it can. I could put it on button 1 if you want.

Also don't forget that you can configure a favorite media app which doesn't have to be one of the four.

What if r0n updates MPLayerWii with some nice new feautures and GUI? Then all will want it back again. But if enough want DMP there, I can do it.

great idea. it would be awesome if you could do this for emulators. up could be genesis, left could be nintendo, right could be geogx, and down could be snes. maybe more buttons could be added in the future as well like 1, 2, or a and b. great release.

I second nicksasa's request. You should include the options to place any homebrew on each button in the .conf file, or tell how to change it internally. It would be the ultimate forwarder channel!

I will take this into consideration when I have some more time.

But before I'll add more media apps to the next version of the Media Forwarder. So far DMP has been requested. What else would you want to have?
