Residents of Tripoli said on Monday there had been "a massacre" in the Tajura and Fashlum districts of the Libyan capital, with indiscriminate shooting and air strikes and women among the dead.

"What happened today in Tajura was a massacre," one resident of the district said. "Armed men were firing indiscriminately. There are even women among the dead," adding that mosque loudspeakers were putting out appeals for help.

Another witness in Fashlum said that helicopters had landed what he called armed African mercenaries in the neighbourhood, and that the gunmen then opened fire on anyone in the street, causing a large number of deaths.

Both Fashlum and Tajura are suburbs of the Libyan capital.[/p]

I think they might be happy with a leader that doesn't order the bombing of civillians at any sign of dissent and allows free elections.

Even if the Military going to be exposed, what good will it do when some shit like this is happening?! More political stuff to add-on on the already rebellion wave happening in the middle east?!

Although rumours are flying around everywhere and journalistic access to Lybia is sketchy at best, it's good to see fighter pilots refusing to fire on their own people and flying off to defect, and reports of military leaders calling on the army to join the people. No matter what the country, the army's first duty should be to their people, not to prop up a regieme which opresses them. That sad, it's heartbraking to hear of mercenaries and soldiers using live rounds, shell and bombs on unarmed civillians for daring to show dissent.

Gaddafi must be imprisoned or better yet die, who cares if he's helping the West, the US don't like tyrants bombing their own people with jets.
