GamersMint has obtained evidence that seems to confirm Mass Effect 3 will have a multiplayer option.

QUOTE said:
An online multiplayer component for BioWare’s Mass Effect 3 has been speculated upon ever since the game’s announcement. The fact that a multiplayer mode was being created for the role-playing game – notorious for its award-winning single-player campaign – was strengthened when a magazine cover confirmed that a ‘killer new feature’ will be unveiled for the third Mass Effect installment. An ad has now confirmed what the publisher, Electronic Arts, were preparing to announce: an online pass has been unearthed putting an end to speculation regarding Mass Effect 3?s multiplayer mode.

The ad, sent to us via a tipster (Darkniks) confirms that the title will be shipping with an online multiplayer mode and it’ll also require a online pass. The ad was meant for the Collector’s Edition of the game.

QUOTEBioWare hasn’t, to date, ruled out the possibility of a mutliplayer mode for the latest iteration in their precious franchise. Additionally, with publisher EA refusing to comment on the matter, paired with the above evidence, it’s now extremely hard to doubt a multiplayer component for Mass Effect 3.

i was under the impression bioware already said they had no plans for multiplayer on this? besides couldnt the online pass be for dlc like the one that shipped with me2 was?

I don't think you can interpret the words "Online multiplayer pass" in too many ways.
(Second image, last line)

I for one won't be using the multiplayer option,
but there are probably a number of people who will.

...So does this mean we have to buy the online pass separately if we don't get the CE? That's retarded.

It says online multiplayer pass.....

anywho I guess this could be ok but what kind of multiplayer, is it going to use your single player character or a pvp player only [assuming it's pvp] I guess you won't have squad mates as telling them what to do in real time wouldn't work that well, I don't really see the point of co-op so who knows, I guess pvp would be cool if you level and earn credits to buy armor and weapons but then players of a higher level would dominate with better weapons but who know I doubt I would play it.

this is just the contents of the CE, the regular would have the online pass otherwise people would just buy a used copy of the regular edition since a new copy wouldn't have the online pass which goes against the point of the online pass to lesson the loss of used sales

You mean cross platform play or only the PS3 will have the multiplayer?

I don't think any Xbox 360/PS3 games support cross platform play with each other, the PS3 only supports some cross platform play with the upcoming Vita and the Xbox has like one game (Shadowrun) that has cross platform play with GfWL.

Cross platform was what I meant. But as you mentioned, doubt that is going to happen.. Well lets wait for more info

Meh, sounds interesting, but I won't pay for Xbox live for the sole purpose of playing Online mode, and I won't be begging to play my brother's PS3 anytime soon.

I just hope they put the Singleplayer first and worry about the multiplayer later, even if I do somehow come across a free Gold account. That said, it's Bioware, so...

what mass effect really needs is co-op

Agreed. I think it could work well, the only issue I see is players having issues with their own story. It'd be real shit to help your friend with the game only to have some major plot point spoiled. Still, it'd be a nice feature. Each player takes controller of whatever squad member they choose, each squad member can choose their own dialogue and talk with the Shepard player on their decisions, and of course there's all the shooting.
