Never gave much to the series... Not to this one either...
Then why post at all you idiot?
Anyways, this trailer just proves that something simple, can turn into something awesome. I loved the first game, never managed to play the second one, but Shepherd is just amazing. He doesn't have that action hero type persona to him, but when you see him walk towards the camera in that trailer, it just makes me say "holy shit. that guy is epic."
I'm just going to say it.
Glad I will only have to wait a year.
Will it also come to the PS3?
As far as I know it does.
I really loved the first two though I wish I played the first one on PC instead of 360... I loved to move with the 360s analog-Stick and aim with mouse in MassEffect2 (it`s very similar to Wiimote-Nunchuk ).
Also finally Shepard on Earth!
The idiot didn't know better, give him a break.
I'm excited though, lets just hope it's more rpg than 2, and not more shooter.
yaaay! awesome! now i still need to play 1 and 2 that i still have lying around since... forever
Well ME3 was pretty much confirmed when ME2 was announced.
At least, I knew it was coming since I read it was a trilogy in an interview.
edit: The series is highly underrated and unknown (here at least). It should be right up there with the Fable and Pokemon.
Gameplay is not that great though, casual gamers don't often buy games for stories
Trailer though, is pretty motherfucking epic and at least doesn't really give people who haven't played ME1/2 that much information.
Caution, major spoilers
Warning: Spoilers inside!
I just wish the major enemy wasn't all about the reapers, it's a bit disappointing when the enemy's motive is just....total annihilation. If you know what I mean.
I suppose the geth have the motive because of the reapers (they worship them)
Hopefully we'll find out more about the reaper's motive, who built them (I find it hard to believe machines just built themselves from absolutely nothing)
Fem Shep is where it's at.
I still haven't finished the 2nd one. Looks like I gotta do that soon.
Mass Effect is easily the best RPG game I've played, I can't wait for 3. Hopefully it'll combine the best elements of 1 and 2 (such as 2's better combat with 1's better RPG aspects). Throw in some multiplayer (co-op at least) and a big, open ended world and you'll easily have the best RPG game to date.
But at least you were "first," right?
Anyway, it's good to know that now Bioware are big enough that they, too, can burn out good franchises.
I hope theyre are going combine the benefits of both games into 1.
I love the combat system in ME2 but I love the Upgrade system in ME1
Weapons from 1 + Combat from 2 = ME3pwn
Making a trilogy is hardly "burning out a franchise". The game was pretty much laid out to be a trilogy and there's been like one spin-off (that iPhone game) that no one cares about. Mass Effect is meant to be a trilogy, and I doubt it'll lose it's magic in the third installment.
Uh what? I'm pretty sure when the first ME was out, Bioware already confirmed, it's a trilogy.
I actually bought that because it unlocks some DLC in ME2 and it turned out to be an alright arcade top down shooter. (Come to think of it reminds me of Dead Ops Arcade)
And ME1 would do alright as a lone game (It only left two loose ends, the reapers and the protheans), ME2 however was basically just leading up to ME3 and wouldn't do too well on it's own.
I do believe that sounds like Richard Armitage.
Not necessarily saying it is or it isn't, but it sounds like him.
Well yeah, in a trilogy the second game is almost always the weakest. The first one establishes the story and the second one ends it. The middle is just a bridge and filler. Second was still absolutely amazing, mind you.
What I don't get is people demanding a new franchise all the time. Surely there are times a franchise needs to retire, but the time isn't after the first or second game. Spyro had an amazing trilogy (Spyro the Dragon, Ripto's Rage, and Year of the Dragon). Crash Bandicoot had an amazing trilogy (Crash Bandicoot, Cortex's Revenge, and Warped). The Reapers is still a massively loose end that would need to be tied up. I mean we just learned of a giant, god-like mechanical race that essential destroys all life every couple of years and that they're coming back soon. I'm pretty sure we'd want to know what happens.
If they make a Mass Effect 4 I'll probably start saying they're "burning it out" but a third installment is a must.
Agreed some games are worthy of getting sequals, the Mass Effect series is one of them.
As soon as they start churning one uot every year (think COD etc) they are definatly milking it but if this series remains for 20 years with each and every installment as good as one and two then its definatly not a bad thing
